1. INTRODUCTION

1.1 Who we are and what this Policy covers

Welcome to the INTENTION Privacy Policy. IntentionAI Inc. (“INTENTION,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information with care. This Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and the rights and choices available to you.

This Policy applies to our website at intentionai.co (the “Site”), our mobile application (the “App”), and related services (collectively, the “Service”). It covers everyone we collect information from through the Service, including Site visitors, waitlist members, and App users.

INTENTION helps you prepare for important conversations. Because of what the Service does, the information you share with us can be personal and emotionally significant. This Policy is written to be read, not skimmed.

1.2 Responsibility for your information and how to reach us

We determine how and why the personal information described in this Policy is processed, and we are responsible for it. Questions, concerns, or requests about your information should be sent by email to support@intentionai.co . If you have a concern, we would appreciate the chance to address it directly before you raise it with a regulator or consumer protection authority.

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

2.1 Categories of information

“Personal information” means information that identifies or can reasonably be linked to you. It does not include de-identified or aggregated information that cannot reasonably be linked to you. We collect the following categories; not every category is collected from every person:

  • Identity and Account Data: your name, email address, and authentication credentials. If you sign in through Google, Facebook, or Apple, we receive basic profile information (such as your name and email address) from that provider as permitted by your settings with them.

  • Waitlist Data: the email address and any preferences you submit when you join our waitlist on the Site.

  • Conversation Content: the information you enter in the conversation builder, including the first name or label you assign to the person you are preparing to speak with; the communication style you select for them; the relationship context you choose; your description of the situation (“The Challenge”); your goal for the conversation (“Your Intention”); transcripts of voice-to-text input; and the guides generated for you, which are stored in your history.

  • Information About Other People: details you choose to include that describe someone else. This category is important enough to get its own section — see Section 4.

  • Technical Data: IP address, device type, operating system and version, app version, language settings, time zone, and identifiers assigned to your device or account.

  • Usage Data: information about how you use the Service, such as features used, session activity, and log data.

  • Customer Support Data: the contents of your communications with us, including feedback and survey responses.

  • Transaction Data: subscription status and transaction confirmations from Apple. Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store; we do not receive or store your full payment card details.

2.2 Sensitive information

The Service does not require you to submit sensitive personal information. However, the situations you describe in Conversation Content may reveal sensitive things about you — for example, details about your relationships, family, or emotional state — depending on what you choose to write. We treat all Conversation Content with heightened care: we do not use it for advertising, we do not sell it, and internal access is limited to what is needed to operate the Service.

2.3 De-identified and aggregated data

We may create de-identified or aggregated data (for example, statistics about which relationship contexts are used most) to understand and improve the Service. We will not attempt to re-identify de-identified data, and we may share aggregated statistics that do not identify you.

3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

3.1 Purposes of processing

The table below summarizes what we do with your information and why:

Activity Information involved Why we process it
Creating and operating your account Identity and Account Data; Technical Data To register you, authenticate sign-ins, and provide the Service you requested
Generating your conversation guides Conversation Content; Information About Other People To produce the personalized guide you asked for, including transmitting your inputs to our AI service provider (see Section 3.4)
Maintaining your history Conversation Content So you can revisit guides in your Recent Conversations
Waitlist and marketing communications Waitlist Data; Identity and Account Data To send launch updates and, with your opt-in where required, marketing you can unsubscribe from at any time
Notifications Technical Data (push tokens) To deliver notifications you have enabled; you can turn these off in device settings
Support Customer Support Data To respond to your questions and requests
Subscriptions Transaction Data To activate and maintain the features you purchased through Apple
Security and enforcement Technical Data; Usage Data To protect the Service, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service
Analytics and improvement Usage Data; Technical Data; de-identified data To understand how the Service is used and make it better
Legal compliance Any category, as required To comply with law, legal process, and governmental requests

3.2 Marketing and content updates

You will receive marketing and product-update emails only if you joined our waitlist or opted in to receive them. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and opting out of marketing does not affect service communications we need to send (such as security or billing notices).

3.3 Change of purpose

We will use your personal information only for the purposes we collected it for, unless we reasonably determine that a new purpose is compatible with the original one. If we need to use your information for an unrelated purpose, we will notify you and explain the basis for doing so.

3.4 AI processing

INTENTION uses artificial intelligence to generate your conversation guides. Guide generation runs on a large language model hosted through Amazon Bedrock, a service of Amazon Web Services, Inc. ("AWS"), operating within our own AWS environment. When you request a guide, your inputs are processed by AWS on our behalf and the generated guide is returned to you. Requests travel over private network connections rather than the public internet.

Under AWS's published Amazon Bedrock commitments: your prompts and generated guides are not stored or logged by the service, are not used to train AWS's models or any third party's models, and are not shared with the company that developed the model, which has no access to the systems where the model runs. Your content is encrypted in transit and at rest.

No third-party AI company receives your Conversation Content. AI-generated guides are suggestions, not facts or professional advice; see our Terms of Service for important limitations.

4. INFORMATION ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE

The Service is designed for you to prepare for a conversation with another person, which means you may enter information that describes someone else — a colleague, partner, family member, or child. This typically includes a first name or label, a communication style you select, and details you include when describing the situation. Please keep the following in mind:

  • Enter only what is needed. Use first names or nicknames rather than full names, and avoid including another person’s contact details, health information, or other sensitive personal details in your descriptions.

  • You are responsible for the information you provide about others, and you should have a lawful basis to share it. The Service does not contact, notify, or independently profile the other person; it processes only what you choose to enter.

  • The communication style you select for another person reflects your own perception. It is not an assessment of that person, and we do not verify it.

If you believe someone has entered your personal information into the Service and you would like it removed, contact us at support@intentionai.co and we will review the request consistent with applicable law.

5. YOUR RIGHTS AND HOW WE PROTECT YOU

5.1 Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights under applicable privacy laws:

  • Right to know and access. You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you and information about how we process it.

  • Right to correction. You can ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete personal information.

  • Right to deletion. You can ask us to delete your personal information, subject to legal exceptions (for example, records we must keep to comply with law or resolve disputes).

  • Right to portability. You can request a copy of information you provided to us in a portable, machine-readable format.

  • Right to opt out of certain processing. You can opt out of the sale of personal information, sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, and certain profiling. Note: we do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

  • Right to non-discrimination. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

  • Right to appeal. If we decline a request, you may appeal our decision by replying to our response, and we will review it.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@intentionai.co . We will need to verify your identity before acting on a request; this is a security measure to make sure personal information is not disclosed to someone who has no right to receive it. You may authorize an agent to submit a request on your behalf where permitted by law. You will not be charged a fee to exercise your rights, though we may decline requests that are manifestly unfounded or excessive.

5.2 Your controls

You can delete individual guides from your history and delete your account at any time. Account deletion removes your personal information from our active systems, subject to the retention rules in Section 7. Your account is protected by your credentials; please choose a strong password, keep it confidential, and sign out on shared devices.

5.3 California residents

If you are a California resident, the rights in Section 5.1 apply to you under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended. The categories of personal information we collect, our purposes, and our sharing practices are described in Sections 2, 3, and 6. We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we have not done so in the preceding 12 months. We do not knowingly collect information from consumers under 16. We do not currently respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals; where legally required, we honor recognized opt-out preference signals such as the Global Privacy Control.

5.4 How we protect your information

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access limited to personnel who need it to operate the Service and are bound by confidentiality obligations. When we use service providers to store or process your information, we require contractual commitments that protect it. However, no transmission or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your interaction with us is no longer secure, contact us immediately at support@intentionai.co

6. YOUR DATA AND THIRD PARTIES

6.1 When we share information

  • Service providers. We share information with vendors who perform services for us — cloud hosting, AI processing (AWS Inc.; see Section 3.4), email delivery (godaddy.com), customer support, and analytics — under contracts that limit their use of it to providing services to us.

  • Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of you, us, or others, or to enforce our Terms of Service or this Policy.

  • Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or part of our business or assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will require that your information remains protected consistent with this Policy, and we will notify you of any material change in how it is handled.

  • With your direction. If you use a feature that exports or shares content, the information goes where you send it.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising.

6.2 Third-party links

The Site or App may include links to third-party websites or services. We do not control them and are not responsible for their privacy practices. When you leave the Service, we encourage you to read the privacy policy of every site you visit.

7. HOW LONG WE RETAIN YOUR DATA

We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes we collected it. In practice: account information and Conversation Content are retained while your account is active so the Service can function; if you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, or maintain reasonable backup cycles. Waitlist email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe or we no longer need them for launch communications. We may retain information longer where there is a complaint or a reasonable prospect of litigation relating to our relationship with you.

8. AGE LIMIT

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. The Service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a person under 16, we will delete it. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us at support@intentionai.co .

9. WHERE WE PROCESS YOUR DATA

We are based in the United States, and your information is stored and processed on servers located in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., you understand and agree that your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S., where laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

10. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We keep this Policy under review and will post any updates on this page with a revised Effective Date. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Service or by email before the changes take effect.
